Lord Vishnu, seated in the Cosmic Ocean, called Devi Yogamaya. Devi Yogamaya is also known as Bhavani. Just as Vishnu Ji is respectfully addressed as Bhagavan, the Divine Mother is addressed as Bhavani. She assists in his divine leelas.

As Devi Bhavani appeared, the Cosmic Ocean began to glow with divine light. Narayana folded His hands and bowed to Her. Devi Bhavani also folded her hands and bowed to Narayana.

Narayana said, “O Bhavani! A new stage of a great divine leela is about to begin upon the earth.” Devi Yogamaya replied, “Narayana, what role shall I fulfil in this sacred leela?”

Narayana said, “Anantadeva is within Devaki’s seventh womb. He must be protected from Kansa. Carry Him from Devaki’s womb into Rohini’s womb in Gokul.”

Anantadeva was no ordinary child. He eternally remains beside Narayana and serves Him. He was now coming to assist in the divine leela upon the earth.

Anantadeva is also known as Sheshnag. In the cosmic ocean, Narayana rests upon His great coils. His countless hoods form a divine shelter above Narayana.

Ananta Deva is immensely powerful, yet his heart is always devoted to the service of Bhagwan Narayana. This time, he would descend to Earth before Narayana and take birth as the Lord’s elder brother.I

Inside the prison of Mathura, Devaki once again felt a new life growing within her. This was her seventh child. Hope arose within her heart, though the fear of Kansa remained.

Every day, Devaki placed her hands upon her womb and said, “Narayana, please protect my child.” The memory of her six sons filled her eyes with tears. Yet she did not lose faith.

This time, Vasudeva felt a special peace within the prison. He told Devaki, “A divine mystery is connected with this child.” Together, they folded their hands and remembered Narayana.

Kansa learned that Devaki was expecting her seventh child. He made the guards around the prison even stricter. He began waiting for the child’s birth.

The words of the heavenly announcement remained in Kansa’s mind day and night. He wondered, “Will this child bring my end?” Fear did not allow him to sleep.

Devi Yogamaya said, “Narayana, Anantadeva shall reach Gokul safely.” Narayana looked toward Her and bowed His head. Devi Bhavani departed to complete the sacred task.

That night, Devaki and Vasudeva were in deep sleep. A gentle divine light spread through the prison cell. Devi Yogamaya appeared within that light.

Devi Yogamaya came beside Devaki and looked upon Anantadeva within her womb. A gentle smile appeared upon the Divine Mother’s face as she saw the divine child. The time had come to carry Him safely to Gokul

Through Her divine power, Devi Yogamaya drew Anantadeva from Devaki’s womb without causing any pain. Devaki and Vasudeva remained in deep sleep. No one learned of the divine event.

Devi Yogamaya immediately carried Anantadeva toward Gokul. Outside the prison, the guards continued their watch as before. They remained unaware of the divine event within.

In Gokul, Rohini was living safely in Nanda Baba’s home. That night, she slept peacefully in her room. She knew nothing of the divine change about to occur.

Rohini was in deep sleep. A gentle divine light filled her room, and Devi Yogamaya appeared beside her. Rohini remained unaware.

Devi Yogamaya safely placed Anantadeva within Rohini’s womb. At that moment, a gentle smile appeared upon Rohini’s face. Devi Bhavani’s sacred task was complete.

In the morning, Devaki felt a great change within herself. She could no longer feel the child in her womb. Unable to understand the mystery, she began to weep.

Kansa was waiting for the birth of the seventh child. Again and again, he asked the guards, “When will Devaki’s child be born?” Several days passed, but no news of the child’s birth came.

At last, the guards told Kansa that Devaki’s seventh pregnancy had been lost and no child had been born. Kansa was astonished. He felt some relief, but suspicion remained within him.

Devaki believed that she had lost her seventh child as well. She sat in a corner of the prison and wept. The sorrow of losing her six sons returned.

Vasudeva comforted Devaki and said, “It is not easy to understand Narayana’s divine leela.” Deep within, he felt that a sacred mystery was hidden behind the event.

At the same time in Gokul, Rohini felt a new life growing within her. Her heart filled with peace and joy. Yashoda Maiya began caring for her.

At an auspicious time, Rohini gave birth to a beautiful and radiant son. His face shone with the gentle light of the moon. Ananta Sheshnag had appeared in Gokul as a little child.

The arrival of little Balarama Ji filled Gokul with joy. The darkness over Mathura had not yet ended, but another great divine leela was silently taking shape. The world did not know that its brightest ray of hope—Lord Krishna—was about to arrive.
